*scrawled below is a sort of diary....an account of what's found out....whenever it decides to happen... the newest entries seem to be in red ink... and fade to white with time... *
MY OWN HISTORY
Hybrid....Beast....Monster...Abomination...I’ve been called all of these....hunted....mocked... trapped....then caged....it’s a wonder I haven’t gone mad...
1991...I was 18 and headin down a highway to nowhere...or so I thought...it lead straight into the black heart of an unknown forest where my future awaited me with poison laced blood...the battle that took place that night between me and my "father" shook the trees, because somethin completely unnatural happened....I was born into the life that I know now...his blood mingled with mine...transformed it...corrupted it...realigned even my DNA into the changeable structure it holds now. I became Wolfenkynde...but before my birth was complete I did what most would consider unspeakable....and killed my sire. But the look in his eyes after he knew what had taken effect....seemed like he begged for release of this curse I now carry on....I had figured that was the only way to carry on the lineage...the ol’ werewolf slash and infect method....granted, it works....but only with the death of the sire is it complete, plus some other preparations he somehow put me through ....makes me wonder if one day I’ll pay the same respect to my forefathers....later I found that it wasn’t the only way to breed....it could happen naturally....but only once, prolly why there are so few of us around...but then there’s also a catch...this time it’s the mother that dies...after the child is born and grows (one month is same as a year until they reach 18, which then they age one year as normal), it’s life force and Wolfenkynde blood leech away at the life of the mother, eventually killing her. I suppose that we could breed the ol’ slash and hack way without asking to die....but I guess I wont find out until I try it...Wolfenkynde are different from other "werewolves"....first of all there are three phases that we can shapeshift to....human which is your normal "hairless ape"...half which basically is your average were... half man half wolf, since I’m the only mature that I know of, I’ll say the average is 8 feet and 600 pounds...this is where I spend most of my time...I’m able to carry out my life as normal except for having to watch my tail around swinging doors... .then there’s full Wolfenkynde...the most dangerous ...it’s the least human of the three, normally brought on by rage and/or the call of battle. I’ve become unpredictable and extremely irrational, the need to cause pain or kill superseding all other things ...
WOLFENKYNDE IN GENERAL
*below are taped two pictures, the one on the left of the normal were shift - the phase you'll find me in nearly all the time - and next to it a slightly out of focus picture, obviously of the third phase*![]()
About the change....you won't find any Wolfenkynde switching back and forth from human to half or full very often, because it's painful an anything...I mean, why wouldn't the restructuring of one's anatomy be the slightest bit uncomfortable? There's a lot of tendon popping and bone's creaking when they change structure.... after a while you get used to it, or if you learn enough magic you can just cover the pain...I would guess that the worste part is our teeth...the human set receeds and a canine-like set drop it...a lot of people have thought I was loosing my teeth from the amount of blood, but it really isn't all that much...one more thing about our teeth, is there are two sets of canines...the second a little smallet than the first, but I'll guarantee you just as deadly....the amount of space they take up tends to distort speech at first....but as with everyting else, you get used to it....our talons are retractable, except in full form.... they stay out...reaching around four or five inches in length and razor sharp...
Some Wolfenkynde can change to a compete wolf form, while others can only stay in the hybrid body of an upright man's torso and wolfen legs and head....and tail of course *chuckles*
*below is a drawing, roughly sketched onto the page....gathering from the already written words of how the sire was the only other known of the breed....maybe you don’t want to know how this picture was compiled*We can wield magic....I still have a helluva lot to learn...but I know that it’s possible....plus we’re supposedly immortal (excluding reproduction, I’m guessing)
ODDITIES
Well.... I have found another way that can kill us, it’s hearsay really cause I’m not about to test it.... and you can bite me if I’m gonna list it for jus anyone to read.... but at least it cuts total immortality outta the picture....
Another difference about Wolfenkynde from other "were" is that our blood is poison...I don't mean the "infect and breed" type of poison of most were...I mean the "rip your insides out and do it all over again jus for the hell of it" type of poison ...I've seen what happens when only a few drops are exchanged.. ..it will kill, no matter what you are or what magic you have....so I guess "blood healing" is outta the question....good way to keep the "leeches" off of ya *chuckles and jus knows he's gonna get it for that comment* It restructures DNA of the host body to match itself, and without the certain preparations it keeps restrucuring until it tears the host body apart... I'm assuming that's what my "father" put me through before he let me end his life.... but hell if I know what the exact ritual is... no one ever taught me anything...Somethin I've noticed over the past few months with my changes... I finally have somethin to describe it as, cause I already knew that full changes affected me different... because the whole body restructures.... metabolism rates increase drastically... and there's this sort of "hunger" that takes over... only way I've been able to satisfy it is to find somethin and rip it apart... not necessarily always a body, but just somethin that eases the urge to destroy... and it is an urgency... I've lost myself to it several times... I’ll lose all sense of who is friend or foe, go after anything that’s within my sights....
THE HUNGER
I've found that there's another Wolfenkynde out there, his name is Strychinine Bonecutter ....all black...7 foot 9 and 275 pounds....guess what he lacks in height he makes up for in stockiness....he's still pretty new to this, I guess I'll get more on him in here later....
OTHERS
*a cassette is wedged into the spine of the book, and even though it isn't labeled, curiosity leads you to put it into the small recorder that seemingly appeared out of nowhere beside the rather large volume. The first sound to rumble softly forth is something akin to a purr.... after it dies silent, a growl slides from the speakers.... and after another short period of silence, a howl explodes into the still air*
WHAT TO LISTEN FOR
BLOOD LINKS
Since some…events… have happened, I’m in need of adding this to the “Bible” or sorts I’m creating over my breed. I already said that Wolfenkynde blood will turn it’s unprepared victim inside out. But I guess sometimes they just come back – I’ve only had it happen twice. Not sure how it happens, and it only does EXTREMELY RARELY. It’s dangerous for both the victim and victor of earlier battles. You see, Wolfenkynde blood is somewhat sentient, it knows it’s been separated into two separate bodies, and it’s going to do whatever it takes to get back into a single one. It induces a sort of madness, causing both parties to fall into this dire need of finding the other and eradicating it – so the blood can reside in it’s single capsule. The madness has it’s stages like any other “disease.” First something like acid flashbacks, little bits of information come out or are absorbed slightly off, then it progresses into a deeper and physical distemper. All in all, it slowly tears both bodies apart until one finally gives up and the magic can pull into the remaining capsule. Sure gives a reason to not to search for reincarnation….
BREEDING
Well, found out about the blood exchange in breeding. Just as with those coming back from the dead after being killed by blood, it’s sentience causes it to want to remain in one body. It can’t be shared. Certain strands of DNA stay the same through a blood rite, as my father’s did in me. But through natural childbirth, the DNA changes somewhat when it combines with your mates. Anyway, as the blood transfers to another body through the blood exchange, the sire goes through the same madness as he/she would in something killed coming back. Only one can survive ANY form of breeding. No wonder there are so few of us….
